Overview
A stunning 70-foot waterfall located in the middle of a private spice and coffee estate, offering a dramatic sight as it plunges into the Cauvery River.
What To Expect?
A short walk through a lush plantation of coffee and cardamom to reach the roaring falls. A hanging bridge built opposite the falls provides the perfect viewpoint for photographs, though standing on it can be shaky during high crowds.

- Wear footwear with a good grip as the steps down can be slippery.
- Expect some walking; there are about 150-200 steps to reach the viewpoint.
- Visit early in the morning to avoid the tourist rush.
Exploring Abbey Falls
The Estate Experience
The falls were originally named 'Abbi Falls' (Abbi meaning waterfall in Kodava language). They were later named 'Abbey' by the first British chaplain of Madikeri after his daughter.
The sound of the gushing water can be heard from the main road. The area is exceptionally green and smells of fresh forest air and coffee blossoms.
How to reach Abbey Falls
Located 8 km from Madikeri town. You can hire a local taxi or take your private vehicle; parking is available near the entrance.
