The Birdwatcher’s Walk

Overview
A 1.5 km long kacha (dirt) path that winds along the edge of the mountain, offering the most serene and green experience in Kasauli.
What To Expect?
A narrow stone and mud path flanked by dense pine forests on one side and a deep valley on the other. It is incredibly quiet, making it easy to spot rare Himalayan birds. The trail ends at a rocky cliff where you can sit and watch the clouds pass by.
Tips
- Carry a pair of binoculars if you enjoy bird watching.
- Wear shoes with a good grip as the trail can be slippery during monsoon.

Walk into the Woods
The trail is relatively flat for the first kilometer but becomes very narrow and rocky towards the end. It is often described as the 'most beautiful short walk' in Himachal.
It starts near Kasauli Club and ends at a viewpoint that offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding hills.
How to reach Gilbert Trail
The trail starts about 2 km from the Mall Road. You can walk from the main market or take a taxi to the start point near Sunset Point.
