One of the 12 Jyotirlingas, this temple is the most sacred site in Varanasi, recently transformed by the grand Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.

A journey through the grand Kashi Corridor that connects the temple directly to the river. You will witness intense devotion, gold-plated domes, and the ancient Jyotirlinga. Security is strict, but the new corridor has made the experience much more spacious and accessible than the narrow lanes of the past.

Exploring Kashi Vishwanath Temple
The Kashi Corridor
Inaugurated in 2021, the corridor has restored the ancient link between the temple and the Manikarnika and Lalita Ghats. It houses a museum, a viewing gallery, and a pilgrim center.
The temple was rebuilt by Queen Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore in 1780 after being destroyed several times over centuries of history.

Located in the old city. Reachable via Godowlia Crossing by rickshaw, followed by a short walk through the corridor entrance.
