A spiritual journey through massive corridors lined with 1,212 intricately carved pillars. The temple is famous for its 22 'Theerthams' (holy wells) located inside the complex. Devotees traditionally bathe in each well, believed to have medicinal and spiritual properties, before entering the inner sanctum to view the Ramalingam.

The Legend of the Lingam
According to the Ramayana, Lord Rama worshipped Shiva here to seek atonement for the sin of killing Ravana. Since the lingam from Kashi hadn't arrived yet, Sita built a lingam out of sand, which is the main deity worshipped today.
The 3,850-foot long outer corridor is a marvel of medieval Indian engineering and symmetry.
