Overview
A massive 15th-century artificial tank where the famous Chandan Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath is celebrated for 42 days.
What To Expect?
A peaceful large water body with 16 ghats for pilgrims to bathe. In the center, there is a small island with a temple called Chandana Mandapa. During the summer festival (April/May), you can see the deities taken on decorated boats for a ritual cruise known as 'Chapa Khela'.

History of the Tank
The tank was built by Narendra Dev, the brother of King Kapilendra Deva. It is one of the largest sacred tanks in Odisha.
The steps of the main ghat are made of Khondalite stone, and the area is surrounded by several small shrines.

Located about 1 km from the Jagannath Temple on the road towards the railway station.
