Triveni Sangamprayagraj
The Sacred Confluence

Overview
The holy point where the brownish Ganges meets the greenish Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati, considered the most sacred spot in Hinduism.
What To Expect?
A boat ride takes you to the exact point of the confluence where you can see the distinct colors of the two rivers merging. The atmosphere is deeply spiritual, filled with the chants of priests and the fluttering of migratory birds (Siberian Gulls) during winter. Many pilgrims take a holy dip at the wooden platforms built at the center.
Tips
- Haggle with boatmen; government-fixed rates are usually displayed on boards.
- Visit at dawn to feed the Siberian Gulls that migrate here in thousands.
- Carry a dry set of clothes if you plan on taking a holy dip.
