Overview
Perched on Neel Parvat, this temple was established by Adi Shankaracharya and is dedicated to the fierce form of Goddess Chandi.
What To Expect?
A thrilling ropeway ride across the Ganges to reach the other side of the valley. The temple is one of the oldest in Haridwar. The atmosphere is intense and devotional. It is believed that the Goddess rested here after killing the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha.

Historical Significance
The main idol is said to have been installed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The current structure was built by the King of Kashmir, Suchat Singh.
Being a 'Siddhapitha,' it is a place where desires are believed to be fulfilled through sincere prayer.
How to reach Chandi Devi Temple
Located on the other bank of the river from Har Ki Pauri. Best reached via the ropeway from the Chandi Ghat area.
