A tiny peacock-shaped island in the middle of the Brahmaputra, housing a 17th-century Shiva temple built by King Gadadhar Singha.

Peacock Island
British officers named it 'Peacock Island' because of its shape. Legend says Lord Shiva burnt Kamadeva (the God of Love) to ashes on this hillock.
The island is one of the few places where you can spot the rare Golden Langur in the wild.
