The Land of Perpetual Rain

Overview
Known as one of the wettest places on Earth, Cherrapunji transforms into a landscape of thunderous waterfalls and emerald-green canyons during the monsoon.
What To Expect?
Vertical drops of water everywhere you look. The Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest plunge waterfall, looks its most dramatic with a massive plume of mist. You'll walk through clouds on the 'Seven Sisters' cliffs and explore limestone caves where the sound of dripping water creates a haunting melody. The 'Living Root Bridges' are at their most resilient, glowing in the rain-washed forest.
Tips
- Always carry a high-quality raincoat or a sturdy umbrella.
- Wear non-slip hiking boots; the limestone and mossy paths are very slippery.
- Try the local smoked pork and Jadoh rice to keep warm.
