Exploring Montmartre & Sacré-Cœur
Village in the City
Montmartre was the home of Picasso, Dali, and Van Gogh. It still retains a village feel because it was only incorporated into Paris in 1860.
The Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur is built of travertine stone which self-cleans and bleaches when it rains, keeping it pearly white.
How to reach Montmartre & Sacré-Cœur
Metro Line 12 (Abbesses Station) or Line 2 (Anvers). Use the funicular to avoid the 200+ steps.
