Zen Masterpiece in Gold

Overview
A Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in 14-karat gold leaf, reflecting brilliantly in the surrounding 'Mirror Pond'.
What To Expect?
A serene stroll through a Muromachi-period garden. The pavilion houses sacred relics of the Buddha. While you cannot enter the building, the sight of the gold structure against the green pine trees and the still water is one of Japan's most famous views. The path leads through the former priest's quarters and ends at a traditional tea house.
