Amer Fort (Amber Fort) was the ancient capital of the Jaipur state. Built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 and expanded by Jai Singh I, it is a quintessential example of Rajput military architecture blended with Mughal aesthetics.
The fort is divided into four main sections, each with its own courtyard. The 'Magic Flower' fresco and the 'Sila Devi' temple are other major highlights. An underground tunnel connects Amer Fort to the nearby Jaigarh Fort, which was intended as an escape route during times of war.
