A high-altitude viewpoint where hundreds gather in the pre-dawn darkness. As the sun rises, the horizon turns purple and then fiery orange, illuminating the snow-capped massif of Kanchenjunga. On clear days, the tip of Mt. Everest is visible in the distance.

Exploring Tiger Hill
Above the Clouds
Tiger Hill is situated at an altitude of 2,590 meters. It is the summit of Ghoom, the highest point in the Darjeeling Himalayan region.
The drive up from Darjeeling takes about 45 minutes. Due to the limited space at the observatory, it is recommended to leave your hotel by 3:30 AM.
How to reach Tiger Hill
Located 11 km from Darjeeling town. You must hire a local SUV (Innova/Xylo/Sumo) to reach the peak before dawn.
