Situated just 5 km from Pahalgam at an altitude of 2,438 metres, Baisaran Hills is a top-tier destination in Kashmir. Often called 'Mini Switzerland', the area is a massive plateau of undulating green grass that provides a surreal contrast against the dark green pine forests and white mountain peaks.
Historically, it has served as a grazing ground for local shepherds, but it is now one of Pahalgam's most popular tourist spots. The trail to Baisaran is quite adventurous, passing through dense woods and offering multiple viewpoints overlooking the Lidder River. It also serves as an essential acclimatization stop for trekkers heading higher to Tulian Lake.
