More About Charminar

Built in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the fifth king of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, Charminar was constructed to commemorate the end of a deadly plague in the city. It serves as both a landmark and a mosque, with the mosque located on the top floor of the structure.

The architecture is a magnificent blend of Persian and Indian styles. The structure is made of granite, limestone, and pulverized marble. It is not just a monument but the heartbeat of Hyderabad's Old City, where traditional trade and modern commerce coexist within its shadows.
