Exploring Mehrangarh Fort
More About Mehrangarh Fort
Built around 1459 by Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, Mehrangarh is a masterpiece of Rajput architecture. The fort was built using the very rock it stands on, making it look like a natural extension of the hill. It features seven massive gates, including 'Jay Pol' (Victory Gate) built to celebrate wins over Bikaner and Jaipur.
Inside, the museum houses the royal collection of 'Howdahs' (elephant seats), palanquins, and fine arts. For adventure seekers, the 'Flying Fox' zipline offers a unique aerial tour over the fort's moats and battlements.
