A massive dam built across the Kabini River, creating a vast reservoir that has shaped the unique ecosystem of the region.

A grand view of the water gushing through the spillway during the monsoon. The bridge over the dam provides an expansive view of the reservoir on one side and the river snaking through the forest on the other. It's a great spot for landscape photography.

Exploring Kabini Dam
Eco-Impact
Built in 1974, the dam is 696 meters long. While it flooded parts of the forest, it created the backwaters that now support a massive population of elephants and birds.
The dam provides irrigation and drinking water to several districts in Karnataka.
How to reach Kabini Dam
Located near Beechanahalli village, about 10 km from the main safari area. Easily reachable by taxi.
