What To Expect?
A 15-minute boat ride from Malvan jetty to reach the fort. Explore the massive ramparts, the hidden main gate, and the temple dedicated to Shivaji Maharaj. The fort still houses a few families who are descendants of the original soldiers. The architecture uses lead in its foundations to withstand the battering of the sea waves for over 350 years.

Engineering Marvel
The fort is spread over 48 acres and the walls are over 30 feet high. It took 3 years and over 3,000 workers to complete this limestone and mortar structure.
Inside the fort, you can find the only temple in the world where Shivaji Maharaj is worshipped as a deity, featuring his handprints and footprints preserved in lime.

Boats depart from the Malvan Marine Sanctuary Jetty (Malvan port). It is about 1 km from the Malvan bus stand.
