The Motorable Magic
Mandarmani is unique because its sand is packed so tightly that you can actually drive a car on it for kilometers. It is often called the 'longest drive-in beach' in India.
While driving is a thrill, visitors are strictly advised to check tide timings. During high tide, the water reaches the resort fences, making driving impossible and dangerous.
How to reach Mandarmani Beach
Easily accessible by road from Kolkata (approx. 170 km). The nearest railway station is Contai, but most visitors prefer a direct drive or bus from Esplanade.
