More About Wat Tham Sua
Wat Tham Sua, commonly known as the Tiger Cave Temple, is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Krabi. Legend says that a tiger once lived in the main cave, and natural rock formations resembling tiger paws can still be seen today. Established in 1975, it serves as a serene meditation retreat for monks.
The highlight of the complex is the punishing yet rewarding climb to the peak. While the climb is physically demanding with varying step heights, the view from the top overlooking Krabi town and the Andaman Sea is unmatched. The site also features a Ganesha statue and sacred Buddha footprints at the summit.
