A massive seasonal salt marsh that turns into a blindingly white desert after the monsoon waters evaporate, best experienced during the Rann Utsav.
What To Expect?
An endless horizon of white salt crystals. During the full moon, the desert glows with an ethereal silver light. You can take a camel cart ride deep into the Rann or simply walk on the salt crust. The 'Rann Utsav' (Nov-Feb) brings a tent city, folk dances, and local food stalls to the edge of the desert.

Exploring The Great Rann of Kutch
Permit Process
Since the Rann is close to the international border, a permit is mandatory. It can be obtained online (rannpermit.com) or at the Bhirandiyara check-post on the way.
Carry a government ID proof (Aadhar/Voter ID) as it will be checked multiple times.
How to reach The Great Rann of Kutch
Located about 80 km from Bhuj. Hiring a private taxi or taking the Rann Utsav shuttle is the best way.
